The Maison-wide research and development division, connecting product ideas with formulation, evaluation and practical production requirements.
- Within the group
- Maison 1712 (Pty) Ltd
- Commercial focus
- Research and development supporting Maison products
- Development context
- Internal development capability
Maison 1712 Labs brings the broader science and product-development work of Maison 1712 into one defined function. Its scope is wider than fragrance alone, supporting both scented products and selected personal-care concepts.
The emphasis is practical: developing prototypes, comparing materials, recording formulation decisions and refining products before a wider release. Documentation and repeatable processes are part of the intended foundation, helping development work remain useful as the portfolio expands.
It is positioned as an internal capability supporting Maison brands, rather than an advertised independent testing laboratory. Specialist analytical services and additional facilities are development possibilities, not claims of equipment already installed or services currently available.
Role within the group
Labs supports the technical work behind the Maison portfolio. It provides a place for product ideas to be developed and assessed before a consumer brand commits to manufacturing, presentation and launch.
Key areas of focus
- Formulation and prototype development
