Maison 1712 Scent Intelligence
The Maison initiative exploring how fragrance knowledge, structured data and analytical thinking can inform scent discovery and development.
- Within the group
- Maison 1712 (Pty) Ltd
- Commercial focus
- Knowledge and tools supporting scent development
- Development context
- Research and technology roadmap
Maison 1712 Scent Intelligence focuses on the information behind fragrance: materials, scent relationships, composition, preferences and performance observations. Its purpose is to organise this knowledge into a foundation that can support more informed product and digital development.
The roadmap includes data-led discovery, recommendation and layering concepts, with the potential for computational methods to help explore relationships between fragrances. These are development directions, not claims that a fully operational recommendation or analytical service is already available.
Longer-term analytical and scent-matching ambitions remain part of the research roadmap. The initiative is distinct from Maison 1712 Labs, which centres on product development, and Maison 1712 Olfactory, which centres on knowledge, culture and education.
Role within the group
Scent Intelligence is intended to connect the Maison’s product knowledge with future data and software capabilities. Its role is supporting better-structured research and useful tools, not claiming proprietary technology or laboratory services before they exist.
